Sebaga Africa Return & Refund Policy

At Sebaga Africa, our mission is Taking Africa to the World by connecting customers with authentic African products from vendors across the continent. We value customer satisfaction and strive to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
Because Sebaga Africa operates as a marketplace with independent vendors from different African countries, return and refund eligibility may vary depending on the product category, vendor, and shipping circumstances. This policy outlines the standard process applicable to purchases made through Sebaga Africa.
1. Eligibility for Returns
Customers may request a return if the item received is:
- Damaged during shipping
- Defective or non-functional
- Incorrect item delivered
- Significantly different from the product description or images
- Missing essential parts or accessories
To be eligible for a return:
- The return request must be submitted within 7 days of delivery
- The item must be unused, unworn, and in its original condition
- Original packaging, labels, tags, and proof of purchase must be retained
- Clear photo or video evidence may be required
Sebaga Africa reserves the right to reject returns that do not meet these conditions.
2. Non-Returnable Items
For hygiene, safety, and product integrity reasons, the following items are generally non-returnable and non-refundable, unless defective or damaged upon arrival:
- Perishable goods (food, beverages, fresh produce)
- Customized or made-to-order products
- Personal care and beauty products
- Intimate wear or hygiene-sensitive items
- Digital products or downloadable content
- Gift cards or promotional vouchers
Some vendors may have additional restrictions.
3. Return Request Process
To initiate a return:
- Contact Sebaga Africa Customer Support via email or through your account dashboard.
- Provide:
- Order number
- Product name
- Reason for return
- Photos/videos showing the issue
- Our team will review the request within 3–5 business days.
- If approved, return instructions will be provided.
Returns sent without prior approval may not be accepted.
4. Return Shipping
If the return is due to vendor or platform error:
Examples:
- Wrong item sent
- Damaged item
- Defective product
Sebaga Africa or the vendor will cover return shipping costs.
If the return is due to customer preference:
Examples:
- Changed mind
- Ordered wrong size/color
- No longer needed
The customer is responsible for return shipping costs, unless otherwise stated by the vendor.
Original shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.
5. Refunds
Once the returned item is received and inspected, we will notify you of the refund status.
Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 7–14 business days.
Refunds may include:
- Full purchase amount
- Partial refund (where applicable)
- Store credit (if agreed by customer)
Refund timing may vary depending on:
- Payment provider
- Bank processing times
- Mobile money provider processing times
6. Partial Refunds
Partial refunds may be granted where:
- Item shows signs of use beyond inspection
- Packaging or accessories are missing
- Minor damage does not affect functionality
- Customer agrees to keep item with compensation
7. Order Cancellations
Orders may be cancelled before shipment for a full refund.
Once an order has been shipped, cancellation is no longer guaranteed and the standard return process applies.
Sebaga Africa reserves the right to cancel orders due to:
- Pricing errors
- Vendor stock unavailability
- Suspected fraud or abuse
- Payment verification failure
In such cases, customers will receive a full refund.
8. Failed Deliveries
Refunds may not be issued if delivery fails due to:
- Incorrect delivery address provided
- Customer unavailable for delivery
- Failure to respond to courier communications
- Failure to pay customs duties or import charges (where applicable)
Additional delivery charges may apply for re-delivery.
9. Cross-Border Orders
Since Sebaga Africa facilitates trade across multiple African countries and international markets, cross-border returns may involve:
- Customs processing
- Duties and taxes
- Longer return timelines
- Higher shipping costs
Custom duties, taxes, and import fees are generally non-refundable unless required by law.
10. Dispute Resolution
If a disagreement arises between customer and vendor regarding a return or refund, Sebaga Africa will act as a neutral mediator and review:
- Order details
- Vendor policies
- Customer evidence
- Shipping records
Sebaga Africa’s final determination regarding marketplace disputes shall be binding, subject to applicable consumer protection laws.
11. Fraud Prevention
To protect our customers, vendors, and marketplace, Sebaga Africa reserves the right to:
- Reject suspicious refund claims
- Request additional verification
- Suspend accounts engaged in abuse or fraudulent activity
Fraudulent claims may result in permanent account suspension.
